Residential Building in Tammelan Puistokatu, Tampere

Tammelan Puistokatu 31 is a nine-storey apartment building and is one of the first projects in Tammela regarding the plan of densifying the area. Based on the city plan change project, a six-storey building from the early 1970’s and the connected single-storey retail wing were demolished from the site. The property is located a quarter away from Tammelantori and to the other direction a quarter away from the tram route. The gross area of the whole building is about about 9700 square meters and the apartment area in the building is about 5900 m2.

Residential building with shared roof terrace

About 170 apartments will be built around two stairwells. There are eight floors for housing, and in addition there are common areas for residents on the 9th floor: stairwell-specific saunas and club rooms, as well as a gym. In addition, more than 160 square meters of shared roof terraces will be built at the site.

The parking is entirely under the yard deck, so the courtyard has been made completely car-free. Apartments sizes vary from studios to family sized apartments.

Facades

The facades emphasize the sculptural shape of the outer corner, combined with peaceful rows of window openings. The facade is plastered, except for the lowest floors, which are clad with natural stone. The colors used are light with reddish-brown effects.
